Whenever I’m about to sleep,
I always wish you’d say,
“Can you stay a little longer”
I still miss you.

I told myself I wouldn’t miss you,
but I can’t seem to forget what
it feels like to be beside you.

I know its too much to ask for you
to think of me as much as I think of you
but I just hope that someday,
somehow, you think of me too.

Like the tree needs the earth.
Like the night needs the moon.
Like the star needs the sky.
Like the guitar needs the tune.
My world needs you, I miss you.

I may act like I’m over you,
but on the inside I’m dying to be yours again.
Miss you my first love.

I miss you tonight.
This morning I embraced
the sea in her fury.
She forced submission,
my thought was hers,
I was in her thrall
and she drained me.
But I think of you now
and I miss you tonight.

Sometimes memories
sneak out of my eyes
and roll down my cheeks.
